5 Of The Best Exercises For Overall Better Health.

Take a look at the best overall strength training movements for overall greater strength, endurance, and health. This list does not include one of the most important which is walking! Walking is huge to our cardiovascular health and if you can absolutely do nothing else then walk. This list is also for individuals with no injuries or limitations. If you do suffer from any injuries you will need to modify these moves in some way, which is completely fine to do. The exercises still remain beneficial to you and your needs! 

1. The squat



The squat is an amazing exercise to build strength in the lower body. It is one of the greatest movements in terms of function and can be done with endless variety such as a back squat, db squat, bodyweight squat, TRX squat, assisted squat, kettlebell, cable, and the list can go on and on.

 

2. Overhead          Press



The overhead press is an amazing exercise to build upper body strength. It is a great functional movement and can be done with many different resistences. Ex. DB oh press, BB oh press, banded oh press, cable oh press, seated, standing, smith machine press, etc.

 

3. The Deadlift



The deadlift is an amazing exercise for total body strength. It is a hip dominate exercise and with the use of both the lower and upper body allows for a completely functional movement. When done correctly can yield amazing results.  Plus, you can absolutely do it with just about anything. A set of dbs, a barbell, cable, smith machine, bands, a suitcase, just so many possibilities. 

 

4. The Pushup



Yup good ol' fashioned pushups! Being able to push your own body weight off of the ground is extremely beneficial for so many reasons. But in addition, you can do pushups anywhere, anytime and you need nothing but your body. 

 

5. Plank



Planks force for total body control and strength. Just like the other exercises it is a functional movement that requires very little to be effective.
